Sarah’s POV

“Hmmm.” The pillows muffled his sexy voice.

I licked my lips and blew out a gush of hot air from my mouth. My palms were sweating and my stomach turned. Should I go ahead with this or keep up the facade? I took a deep breath and spoke softly.

“It's about Rose. Ah…Rose is your daughter.”

He bolted up in bed and turned to me. “What the hell did you just say?”

“Rose is your daughter, Ryan,” I repeated slowly. “We made a baby.”

Hurt started filling in his eyes. I yearned to reach out and pull him into my arms, but he was already rising from the bed.

“This is some sick joke, isn’t it?”

I sighed and ran a finger through my thick hair. My body still buzzed from coming so hard, and I longed to snuggle up to his taut body until morning. That was never going to happen now.

“Ryan, I’m sorry. I didn’t know I was pregnant when I left.”

He picked up his discarded pants from the corner of the room and turned to face me. “Are you being serious right now?”

“I’m dead serious, Ryan. I was pregnant before I left.”

He palmed his head and took in a long breath. “So you’re saying Rose is my daughter?”

“Im sorry, Ryan. I should have told you.”

His eyes gleamed with anger. “You’re sorry? How could you do this to me?”

I winced as the guilt zapped through me again. I hated seeing him like this. He moved to the door, bare-chested, and swung round to face me. “Tell me the truth. Were you ever going to tell me?”

His words punched me, carrying immense pain. He scooped up his shirt and shrugged into it quickly. I sighed as he buttoned up the now creased shirt.

Damn it!

“I was confused. Please, Ryan, come back to bed. Let's talk about this.”

He glared at me. “You are despicable, Sarah. You made a complete fool of me. Why did you do this?” His voice wobbled, and my heart ached.

He continued speaking. “Did any of this mean anything to you, or were you just looking for an orgasm.”

I gasped at his insult. How could he say that to me?

“That’s not fair, Ryan. You know I would never do that to you.”

“Do I? I don’t know anymore. If you can keep my child away for three years, then I don’t think I know who you are anymore.”

I gripped a pillow and dug my nails in for support. Tears threatened to spill from my eyes. “Ryan, I need you to calm down and let’s talk about this logically,”

He moved closer to the bed, and I shrank back in fear. Ryan would never put his hands on me, but right now, the look in his eyes drove a spear into my heart. I hated myself, and I hated him for what he did to me.

“Don’t you dare tell me to calm down.” He ran a hand through his curls. “I’m the guy who ruined his life. You want us to be logical about this. How about
